Survival 101

We were having a discussion about weekend plans and going to the cabin. From this conversation the students decided they will learn to keep warm by having a camp fire, just in case they get lost in the woods;)
We had a great fire safety conversation during this provocation.

They built a barrier to keep the 'fire' from spreading. They used red recycled paper as the 'fire'. They built the fire up like a triangle to get the air to flow through.

One student pretended a marker was a can of hair spray! We then had to discuss what is safe to use in a fire - a hair spray can was NOT one of them!!

Take note of the 'marshmallow' on the straw :)
