Leaf Man & Fire Safety

If you are looking for an exciting book about change, fall colors, and creativity, the read a loud "Leaf Man" is a great choice!

The leaves are changing and the cool breeze is blowing the leaves around to create a variety of shapes that often turn into animals. The students really enjoyed the book and spent two days creating their own version of 'Leaf Man'.

Fire Chief Corey and his fire fighters joined us for a fire safety presentation!

It was a busy week with a lot of great learning opportunities!

Last week was extra busy!
Even when it rained we still found a way to get outside!

Students create different lines, and then these lines can be used to create images!

Students first began to sort into different categories, now that they have done this, it is now time to move onto making patterns.

In kindergarten, we like to create our own displays around the room. This gives the students ownership of their classroom. We created our very own number wall using loose parts. The students made this activity very meaningful and they were very proud of their creations all while learning to 1-1 count.

What a wonderful day we had outside with our Buddy Readers! This time, their grade 6 buddies read them a story about changing trees and then they went on a nature walk to find changing leaves.
Once we found some leaves, our buddies help us create leaf rubbings!

Germs are Everywhere!

We certainly found this to be true, germs are everywhere! We discussed the importance of hand washing with soap and warm water. The students also learned to sneeze or cough into their sleeve instead of their hands.
