Little Green Thumbs

Little Green Thumbs

This is our learning story. Join us as we all gain a green thumb in the classroom!
Big thanks to a local Clarenville company SubC Imaging for funding our garden!

It all started with a seed. Ms.Brown's 2/3 class also has a garden. We joined the 'big kids' to soak our pods and plant the seeds. We planted cucumber, tomato, kale, and lettuce.

We predicted how many days before germination. Many students said between 5-10 days. We had our first tomato seedling on Day 6!!! By 10 days we had a whole tray of tomato seedlings and 3 cucumber seedlings.

We have been measuring the tomato and cucumber plant and it is now 5 blocks tall.

It's time for the dome to come off our plants. They now need the big lamp! We are also adding a fan to the garden because we want to pretend they are outside in the wind. We need strong plants!

Stay tuned, we will need to replant our seedlings into the large containers for bigger growth.

I wonder how long before we have a tomato to eat?
