Welcome!

Welcome to our Kindergarten blog for 2019-2020 school year!

We have been busy since school has begun. This blog will give families an idea of what we have been exploring. A lot of discovery happens in Kindergarten that is hard to send home, these pictures will give you a glimpse into our days at school.

The Shape of Things is a great read aloud to spark interests in using shapes to create other items. The students made houses, robots, animals, flowers, and rainbows.

We used our bodies to create the letter 'I'

Shapes continued with a circle hunt around the classroom with our magic paint brushes.

SELFIES
We created our self portraits using loose parts and chalk!

It was an awesome day when we went to the outdoor classroom. The students were excited to catch bugs and create a habitat for them.

Every morning there's an 'is' hunt.

What's new?

We read the story 'What Am I?", it was a guessing game. Students were given hints and they have to guess what object they are describing. For example; what is yellow, round and lives in the sky?

Students created their own versions of what am I?

We finally got to taste a cucumber from our garden! They were yummy! One student wanted to compare her store bought cucumber to our gardens cucumber:)

St.Patrick's activities were fun! We made leprechaun traps... a leprechaun showed up and left behind his hat!

BEACH DAY! May as well just lay out in the 'sun'.

Let's eat healthy! The students are learning to EAT THE RAINBOW! Lots of fruits and vegetables!
