Provocations are materials provided to students with a purpose. We use open ended materials that students can explore to uncover the curriculum.

Students are learning via play.

Counting puffs to make shakes. Anyone thirsty?

Numbers everywhere...

Words are forming...

Structures are being built,

Painting letters with 'wet' paint.

Punctuation marks are happening.

Healthy and Non Healthy Foods

Sorting. They couldn't quite figure out pizza. They said it has bread, and tomatoes but we probably shouldn't eat it all the time:).

Making a healthy meal from all four food groups. We are working on this;).

Check us out, we don't always need to use a pencil to form letters! Creating with loose parts builds fine motor skills, which will later help their pencil grip.

LOOK loose parts all over the place!

Sorting trays... this can be easily replicated at home. Try it with your child.

You can make letters with more than just a pencil:)
Try using pipe cleaners, and play dough to change it up!

Fine motor skills build future writers:)
Stacking is tricky.

Outdoor Exploration

Students have been learning about their surroundings. They have enjoyed mapping inside using their imagination. Today we took this concept to the outdoors. They mapped their school surroundings. In their maps they included; the playground, basketball court, trees, buses, parking lot, houses, and of course roads.
